ROUTINES = CIGARETTES
How much do daily routines weigh on you… when you’re trying to quit smoking?
It's the combination of both, the body needs nicotine.
But it also needs to follow a script the brain knows by heart:
the coffee, the chair, the pause... the cigarette.
So the question isn’t:
It doesn’t know what comes next, and that’s where the real opportunity is born.
“When I get away from this routine, I’ll try again.”
When the environment changes, the cigarette loses its place.
The day you got married.
Your first job
All different emotions. But always... with a cigarette in your hand.
Because it breaks the associations no one sees — but the body feels deeply.
It’s not about airports. It’s about breaking the emotional structure that’s been repeating for years.
My Experience at the Sharm Cliff Resort
Sharm El Sheikh
Traveling, working, and helping smokers around the world to quit has taken me to many cities, but very few experiences surprised me as much as the one I lived at Sharm Cliff Resort, in Naama Bay, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
I arrived very early in the morning, tired after several intense days. Even so, the reception team welcomed me with genuine kindness, something I deeply appreciate.
Within just a few minutes, I was already in my room — spacious, quiet, and with an incredible view of the Red Sea, Naama Bay, and the resort’s swimming pools.
As a physician specialized in smoking cessation and creator of www.stopcigarros.com, I often talk with people from many countries about stress, routines, and the emotional patterns that keep the smoking habit alive.
I explained to them that quitting smoking is not only about willpower. The environment, relaxation, rest, and the quality of our daily experiences also play a fundamental role. And this hotel — Sharm Cliff Resort — provides exactly the type of atmosphere that helps reduce anxiety and break the stress–smoking cycle.
I am deeply grateful to Mohamed Essa, Ahmed Samy, and Mohamed Eid (who appear with me in the photo). Their warm and friendly reception made me feel truly at home from the first moment.
